(Brooks) Pryor, she married James Garland Morris on June 25, 1960 in Palmyra, Mo. He died June 5, 2017, in Pekin.She was also preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Reva Williams and Betty Monks; and two brothers, Floyd and Michael Pryor.Surviving are two daughters, Pam (Quinn) McKenzie of Peoria and Lisa Jackson of Pekin; one son, Tony (Carol) Morris of Rock Island; nine grandchildren, Dallas (Mary) McKenzie, Lauren (Chris) Mackey, Houston (Caitlin Keturi) McKenzie, T.J. (Fon) Morris, Cody (Brittni) Morris, Kyle (Elyse) Morris, Austin Jackson, Jeffrey Jackson and Noah Jackson; 12 great-grandchildren; and Jeff Jackson and Tiffany Morris.Judy had worked at Caterpillar Inc. in Mapleton and Mossville for 30 years, retiring in 2003. She was a current member of the UAW Local 974.A loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Judy enjoyed church fellowship, listening to Southern Gospel music and watching NASCAR with her husband. She also enjoyed taking trips back home to Boss, Mo.Judy was a member of Broom Tree Fellowship in rural Pekin.Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Chuck Grogan will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The couple each spent nearly their entire lives living and working in the borough, lives that were cut short Friday evening when they were struck and killed by a man allegedly driving under the influence as they attempted to cross Route 36. Their obituary paints a picture of a couple with vibrant personalities who shared close bonds with their children and were deeply tied to their hometown. "They were both beautiful people and regular comedians who brought love and laughter everywhere they went," their obituary read. "The impact they made on the people in their lives will leave a mark of love that will last a lifetime." Condon Funeral Home on Route 36 in the Leonardo section of Middletown. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Agnes Church in Atlantic Highlands. Barbara Grogan, 59, grew up in Atlantic Highlands and went on to attend William Paterson University, where she earned a bachelor's degree in business. Atlantic Highlands. They were also soon-to-be grandparents, as one of their adult children had a baby on the way. The Grogans were hit as they were attempting to cross Rt. 36 at Grand Avenue at approximately 7:50 p.m. Friday evening, March 8. The husband and wife were struck when they were out for one of their usual evening walks around the quaint seaside town, according to their obituary. They were hit by an alleged drunk driver in his late 20s from Belford, the Monmouth County prosecutor said. Dylan Rieger, 27, of Belford, has been charged with driving while intoxicated and reckless driving. He remained at the scene Friday. The couple was attempting to cross the intersection from the northbound direction of State Highway 36 at Grand Ave. when they were struck by an eastbound 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo, driven by Rieger, said police. The Grogans leave behind their children Amy (31), Jonathan (29), Andrew (25), and daughter-in-law Rebecca (28). A viewing for the Grogans will be this Thursday, March 14 from 2-4 p.m. and then 6-9 p.m. at John Condon Funeral Home on Hwy. 36. Funeral services will be Friday, March 15 at 11 a.m. at Saint Agnes Church. The Condon funeral home did not have a photo. Both John and Barbara grew up in Atlantic Highlands, "a town and community they loved so fondly," according to their obituary, and they spent the remainder of their lives there. John attended Saint Agnes elementary, Henry Hudson Regional and a few semesters of junior college at Brookdale Community College. He successfully started his own business, John Grogan Lawn Maintenance, which he ran for 35 years. Barbara attended Atlantic Highlands Elementary School K-6, Henry Hudson Regional and William Patterson University, where she earned a bachelor's degree in business.
